DOES GOD EXIST? PART II

Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them;
for God hath shewed it unto them. For the invisible things of him from
the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by things
that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse.
Romans 1:19-20

No more essential question can be asked than, "Does God Exist?" The answer to this question will have the greatest consequence upon our life than any other question we could ask. If He does exist, what form does He take? Is He visible to the physical eye? If He is not visible to the physical eye by which means may we know that He exists?

No one can either prove nor disprove God exists by a direct method but we can prove or disprove His existence indirectly. We cannot see Him with our physical eyes. He is invisible to our physical sight. Does this not prove that He does not exist? There is more than one type of eyesight. There is the physical and the spiritual or eye of faith. We can see His effects or His handiwork, in the created world.

The Lord Jesus Christ said in John 3:7-8, "Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. 8The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit." He is saying that we must be born spiritually. This presupposes spiritual death of the one being born again. Then He describes what one born of the Spirit is like. He uses the analogy of the wind. We do not know where the wind comes from and we cannot see it with our physical eyes but we can see its effects. So while we cannot see that a man has been born again spiritually, we can see the effects of it in his life. This is an indirect proof from effect to cause.

To deny cause is to deny all things exist. "Cause" according to Noah Webster’s 1828 Dictionary is "That which produces an effect; that which impels into existence, or by its agency or operation produces what did not before exist; that by virtue of which any thing proceeds, and without which it would not exist." Man does this on a daily basis and yet denies that God can do the same thing.

Hebrews 11:3 gives us the cause of the universe, "Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear." This is the Christian doctrine of Ex Nihilo. God spoke the world into existence. The visible creation did not exist until God said that it should.

"Ex nihilo is a Latin term meaning "out of nothing". It is often used in conjunction with the term creation, as in creatio ex nihilo, meaning "creation out of nothing". Due to the nature of this term, it is often used in philosophical or creationistic arguments, as many Christians, Muslims and Jews believe that God created the universe from nothing" (Wikipedia). Why do we believe that God created the world out of nothing? Because it exists and by faith.

"Another major argument for creatio ex nihilo is the "first cause" argument, which may be summarized as: Everything that begins to exist has a cause. The universe began to exist. Therefore, the universe must have a cause." (Wikipedia). The universe is an effect which presupposes a cause. The Creator is responsible for the effect because it is impossible for something to create itself. The First Cause would have to be the Creator because He alone would possess the necessary attributes to bring the world into existence and one of those attributes is the ability to create something out of nothing. This is the attribute of omnipotence.

The existence of the universe conclusively proves that it had to come into existence at some point. "The scientific consensus now is that the universe had a beginning and that every thing that now exists in the universe had its origin in a large explosion of energy called the 'Big Bang'" (Wikipedia). Scientists now say that the universe had a beginning. However, their beginning of existence was caused by some unknown source that resulted in the Big Bang. In other words, this beginning was by random chance. What this says is that matter is eternal and therefore god. How did a consensus of scientists arrive at this conclusion? If they deny that God created the world out of nothing, then the only other alternative is that world created itself out of pre-existing matter. The effect is become the creator. There are no other alternatives.

"By the word of the LORD were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his
mouth. Psalm 33:6. Here is the doctrine of ex nihilo expressly stated. This is in conformity with the creation account of Genesis.

Notice how the creation happened on the first day in Genesis 1:3, "And God said, Let there be light: and there was light." Said means that it was spoken. The light mentioned here was thus spoken into existence by the word of God. Other references in Genesis 1 referring to God speaking the world into existence out of nothing can be found in Genesis 1:6, 9, 11, 14, 20, 24, and 26.

To say that God did not create the world ex nihilo is to deny what Genesis Chapter 1 says occurred. To do this would be tantamount to saying that God does not exist and the creation account is a myth. The question comes down to either believing what the Bible says about creation or believing what man says. Man will vehemently deny the doctrine of ex nihilo but God says that man should know that He created the heaven and earth and man is without excuse.

DOES GOD EXIST?

The fool hath said in heart, There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good.
Psalm 53:1

As with all things in life, there are only two possible options available to us. There is no neutrality. This presupposes that there is one standard by which all other standards are to be judged. This standard is the standard of truth. So who gets to determine what the standard of truth is? There are only two options, God or man.

For our purposes, Noah Webster’s 1828 Dictionary defines "standard" as, "That which is established by sovereign power as a rule or measure by which others are to be adjusted." Sovereignty then is the key to who gets to establish what the standard of truth will be. Which came first the standard or man? If man comes first, then he can establish any rule he so chooses. If the standard came first, then man must adjust his beliefs and behavior in accordance with the standard.

The sovereign must be transcendent. Not only must he establish all rules and measures of truth but they must be in accord with his own being. There can be no contradictions between the standard and the one instituting the standard or else the standard will be one that is always in a state of flux. The standard must be immutable otherwise it is not a standard.

To establish a standard of truth, the maker of the standard must be omniscient. Without omniscience, how could a standard of truth be truth? How could someone with limited intellectual capabilities be able to know all things at one time? This standard of truth would have to be universal and applicable to all generations that would ever exist. It would also have to be superintended universally.

How can man be everywhere all at one time? How can he know what is going on in all places and at all times to ensure that his standard of truth is being properly handled everywhere and that all heresy is being stamped out?

The sovereign must be omnipotent. He must have the power to put this standard of truth into the very fabric of all the universe and then have the power to punish all who would disobey the standard of truth.

The sovereign must be immortal. He cannot superintend the standard of truth one day and suddenly disappear from the scene the next. The standard of truth would then have to be changed with a new sovereign making up a new standard. Then there would be no predictability in the universe. The sun would no longer rise in the east and set in the west. It could be anything when the new sovereign takes over. In this new world of flux, nothing could operate because the standard would change so often. In this chance universe, we would have to learn a new standard continuously because the old had been changed again. We just could not make any progress because we are constantly having to build and rebuild according to a shifting standard.

The question asked is; Does God Exist? Another question that could be asked is Does Man Exist? While some would answer the first question in the negative, they would readily affirm the second. The next question that needs to be asked is Why Does Man Exist? For those who say that God does not exist, their answer would be man exists because he exists. In other words, man exists for no reason or purpose. In this world of no reason or purpose, man must therefore determine his own reason or purpose for existing.

Each man must do this for himself. There is no universal standard of truth available in this new world. If he is a serial killer, this is what he exists for and this is what he has determined he should be and no one has the right to tell him otherwise because there is no standard by which he is to be judged because there is no one above him. He has determined himself to be the new sovereign of the universe. Magnify this by six billion people and the result is utter chaos and anarchy.

In this brave new world, we find that the new sovereign cannot figure out when life begins. They know that it begins at conception but rather than adjusting to the standard of truth they have altered the standard to fit their whims. Now a baby is no longer a baby. It is a blob of tissue. The mother now says to the father, " I feel the blob of tissue kicking." In this world where God does not exist, women are given the legal right to murder their own babies. In this world of their own design, they have no hope for the future because there is no reason or purpose for the future.
In the world where God does not exist, man is a coward. He will seek to destroy the weak and defenseless. Besides murdering babies, men will desire to wipe out the sick and feeble from the face of the earth. Man does not want the responsibility of taking care of them because he is his own sovereign establishing his own standard of truth, which is narcissism. He does for himself to the disregard of all others.

How did man arrive at this state? By way of negation. The only way that he can seek to overthrow the true sovereign is by denial. When he denies that God exists, then he has to deny that anyone else exists other than himself. This would mean that he is the only sovereign in the universe and everyone must bow to his standard of truth. He does not love his neighbor. He hates and despises him and seeks a way to destroy him.

This destruction is all gussied up to look like compassion but it is just the opposite. An example is eugenics. Wikipedia gives this definition of eugenics and its supposed compassion, "Eugenics is a social philosophy which advocates the improvement of human hereditary traits through various forms of intervention.[1] The goals of various groups advocating eugenics have been to create healthier, more intelligent people, to save society's resources, and lessen human suffering." Pure and simple it is the way for man to say who lives and who dies, because in a world where God does not exist by default man is the sovereign and he must determine death and life.

Man will, of course, not determine death and life on a universal standard but on one that shifts like the sands of the Sahara Desert. One day in your favor, the next day it is off with your head. If you do not believe that eugenics is pernicious, then look at the results of this philosophy. "Historically, eugenics has been used as a justification for coercive state-sponsored discrimination and human rights violations, such as forced sterilization of persons who are claimed to have genetic defects, the killing of the institutionalized population and, in some cases, outright genocide of races perceived as inferior or undesirable." (Wikipedia). This is what happens when man does not believe that God exists. He becomes a complete barbarian.

Notice the list of barbarians who have actively supported eugenics or have actually practiced it, "The modern field and term were first formulated by Sir Francis Galton in 1865, drawing on the recent work of his cousin Charles Darwin. From its inception eugenics was supported by prominent people, including Alexander Graham Bell, George Bernard Shaw, Winston Churchill, Adolf Hitler and Margaret Sanger. Eugenics became an academic discipline at many colleges and universities. Funding was provided by prestigious sources such as the Rockefeller Foundation, the Carnegie Institute of Washington, and the Harriman family.[2] Its scientific reputation started to tumble in the 1930s, a time when Ernst RĂ¼din began incorporating eugenic rhetoric into the racial policies of Nazi Germany." (Wikipedia)

Charles Darwin’s theory of origins helped spring the eugenics movement. This is not amazing because Darwin’s theory begins with the premise that God does not exist. Adolf Hitler and the Nazi’s were notorious for their efforts in genocide and trying to create supermen. Margaret Sanger is the founder of Planned Parenthood which is the chief provider of abortions (murdering of innocent babies) in the United States. Eugenics is an elitist policy where only the fit are allowed to survive. The elite then becomes the new sovereign. A word of warning, do not fall out of favor with the elite or else your days will be numbered.

Does God exist? The Bible says that only fools, elites and intellectuals believe that there is no God. What is the result of their disbelief? They are corrupt and they have committed abominable iniquities and there is not one of them that does any good to anyone. Charles Darwin, Adolph Hitler, and Margaret Sanger all believed that they lived in a world where God does not exist. They left in their wake, death and destruction and have gone down in history as infamous.

WHAT IS THEOLOGY?

We are faced with two views of eternity. One view is that eternity is what it says it is; eternal. The other claims there is no eternity; that this life is all that there is. Both of these views cannot be correct. One is correct and the other is incorrect. Depending on which view is right, it will have a dramatic impact upon how we see the world. There is not a third option available.

Every religion has to deal with what happens to a person when they die. It is not something that can be avoided seeing that it happens to each and every man. Those who have no hope beyond the grave fear death more than anything else in the world ,contrary to their claims to the otherwise. They just do not like to think on such matters. It is disturbing to them.

Noah Webster’s 1828 Dictionary defines "theology" as, "Divinity; the science of God and divine things; or the science which teaches the existence, character and attributes of God, his laws and government, the doctrines we are to believe, and the duties we are to practice. Theology consists of two branches, natural and revealed. Natural theology is the knowledge we have of God from his works, by the light of nature and reason. Revealed theology is that which is to be learned only from revelation..."

This definition is sufficient to give us a good beginning point as to what theology is comprised of. Theology has been out of favor as an area of knowledge for many years. It is beginning to gain ground and advance, in our time, because of the collapse of humanism. The last century was the bloodiest century of all time. It was the century where Darwinism controlled all the branches of knowledge. Darwinism is now on the run. The back of the monopoly is being broken.

Darwinism is the crown jewel of humanism. It is the opposite of theology because it is atheism. The educational system is still based on atheistic principles. The only problem is that when these principles are tried in the world, they fail at every juncture. To be successful in the world, everyone must become an operational Trinitarian.

How do we believe that there is a God? By faith. How do atheists believe that there is no God? By faith. Man is made in the image of God and therefore he is revelational of God. Man cannot avoid God’s image in him. God’s image remains no matter how much he may protest. He knows deep down in his heart of hearts there is a God to whom he is accountable.

He chooses to try to ignore it. Paul in Romans 1:18 gives us an accurate picture of the atheist’s attempt to avoid God, "For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness." The humanist attempts vainly to suppress the truth. He thought that Darwinism would keep the truth of creation from being used in the curriculums of all branches of knowledge.

The minute that creation begins to be proclaimed, he cries out separation of church and state. What he means by this is not true separation in function but philosophically. His theory cannot stand the light of day and deep down he knows it. Since the facts are not on his side, he is forced to resort to censorship. This is the very one who will cry censorship if a book is to be banned because of questionable content. He lives in the world of double standards. What he does want censored is theology or Christianity.

The humanist has been able to get away this for over a century. He is well entrenched but the walls are crumbling all around him. His lies are being shown for what they are; lies. He fears Christians who are militant in knowledge. He has been able to dupe so many in the church for so long because they had to run the gauntlet of humanist education.

The chief way that the humanist seeks to suppress the truth is through accreditation. Patrick Henry College was having trouble being granted accreditation because they believe in creation and not evolution. The vast majority of accrediting agencies are in the enemies hands. They are enemies of the truth of God.

The humanist is only able to continue his hoax of knowledge by coercion. That coercion is at the end of a gun barrel. The taxpayer is forced to pay for false theology. There are alternatives that are beginning to challenge this monopoly. It will take time but eventually these institutions of philosophical lower learning will fall.

Truth always overcomes falsehood just as light overpowers darkness. We know that God exists. Not because we can see and feel Him but because our faith is in the truth. Hebrews 11:6 reads, "But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him." To please God, we must believe that He exists. We believe by faith and trust in Him who cannot lie.

The atheist would say that he is entitled to his own opinion. I agree that he is and he is entitled to be wrong.
